If your Clipsal Wiser controller or app has been left behind, you do not need to replace the whole lighting system. We audit the existing C-Bus network, back up the programming, then migrate the control layer to a current C-Bus controller, Apple HomeKit or Home Assistant — keeping your keypads, dimmers and scenes.
“Clipsal Wiser discontinued” can mean several different things. Here is the current status of the Wiser C-Bus products, based on Clipsal and Schneider Electric product notices.
The original Wiser Home Controllers, including the MK1 5200PG and MK1.5 WHC_5918A, are obsolete. The 2024 Wiser 2 app security update removed their remote access, leaving local control only.
Discontinued by Schneider Electric on 22 June 2024. Schneider's published recommended replacement is the SpaceLogic C-Bus Application Controller, part number 5500AC2.
Schneider now labels the Wiser 2 app “to be discontinued soon” and states it will receive no further maintenance or updates. It may stop functioning, so remote access is the first feature at risk.
The legacy Wiser Room app — used for the separate Clipsal Wiser Bluetooth/Zigbee range, not Wiser for C-Bus — can no longer be downloaded after 31 December 2025. We confirm which platform you actually have.
Wiser is the control and visualisation layer. The C-Bus field hardware underneath it is separate, and in most Sydney homes it does not need to be replaced.
The Cat5e C-Bus bus, network burden and power supplies stay in place. A controller swap is a DIN-rail change, not a rewire of the house.
Existing Clipsal keypads, dimmer modules and relay modules continue to work. Age-related failures are repaired separately, not replaced just because Wiser is end-of-life.
We read the existing C-Bus project, back it up, and rebuild schedules and scenes on the new controller. The behaviour you already rely on is preserved.
The right path depends on whether you want like-for-like Wiser control, a current C-Bus platform, or Apple/third-party integration.
5500AC2 SpaceLogic Application Controller, or 5500NAC2 Network Automation Controller for larger sites. Local web visualisation, logic, scheduling, Modbus/BACnet, current firmware and the C-Bus Manager app.
Schneider's replacement path for the 5500SHAC
5200WHC2 C-Bus Home Controller. Clipsal's current recommendation for older Wiser controllers, and the option if you want to keep the Wiser 2 app for now.
Best treated as a stopgap while the app is retired
Move control to Apple Home via current C-Bus controller firmware or Homebridge, or to Home Assistant with a Shelly Wall Display. Voice control, dashboards and automation without the Wiser cloud.
We identify the exact Wiser controller and firmware, check the C-Bus network health, and back up the existing project file before anything is removed.
You get a written comparison of 5500AC2, 5200WHC2, HomeKit and Home Assistant, including what each option keeps, adds or loses.
The new controller is installed on the existing DIN rail, the project is restored, and scenes, schedules and remote access are tested end to end.
We set up the new app or HomeKit/Home Assistant, remove the dead Wiser connection, document the system and hand over the backup.

Our specialist came from Clipsal National Technical Support, so Wiser, C-Bus and SpaceLogic are familiar platforms — not a new product learned on your job. We know which controllers are current, which are end-of-life, and what Schneider actually recommends.
Before any controller is removed we extract and back up the existing C-Bus project. Scenes, schedules and group addresses are preserved, and you receive a copy at handover — no dependence on a dealer's laptop.
C-Bus, Apple HomeKit or Home Assistant — we recommend the platform that fits the building and the owner, not the one that is easiest to sell. Commercial, strata and residential systems supported.
The controllers we most often fit when retiring a Wiser system — supplied, installed and programmed with your existing C-Bus project.
Schneider's recommended replacement for the discontinued 5500SHAC. DIN-rail controller with C-Bus, Ethernet, RS232/485, logic, scheduling and local visualisation. Runs current firmware and the C-Bus Manager app.
