Which system is right for your home or project?
C-Bus has a higher hardware cost but a larger installer base in Australia. Dynalite is more common in commercial and hospitality fitouts. Both require accredited programmers — don't let cost be the only factor.
Both systems offer excellent dimming, but Dynalite's DALI-2 integration gives it an edge in commercial settings where precise, energy-monitored dimming is required. C-Bus is excellent for residential and light commercial.
C-Bus scales from a single room to a 500-zone commercial building. Dynalite is designed for large commercial, hospitality and institutional projects but works in residential too.
C-Bus has a larger installer base in Australia, meaning more electricians are familiar with the hardware. However, programming always requires an accredited programmer regardless of the platform.
C-Bus integrates natively with Apple Home, Google Home, Clipsal Wiser, and third-party platforms via gateways. Dynalite integrates with BACnet, Modbus and building management systems.
For pure residential — particularly homes in the Sutherland Shire with existing C-Bus infrastructure — C-Bus is usually the right choice. For commercial, hospitality or high-end residential requiring NCC 2022 DALI compliance, Dynalite is often the better fit. We're accredited in both and will give you an honest recommendation for your specific project.
